‘If life gives us lemons make lemonade’. However, when we get a lemon in life, making lemonade becomes difficult. But what else can we do, apart from being optimistic in these unprecedented times? Let us redefine ‘QUARANTINE’
Q – QUIT LAZINESS
U – UPSKILL YOURSELF
A – ASK YOUR INNER-SELF
R – RECONNECT
A – ATTEND TO GARDEN
N – NEW CULINARY SKILLS
T – TAKE UP A BLOG
I – PLAY INDOOR GAMES
N- NEW HOBBY
E – EXPLORE YOURSELF
All of us are following the routine of Eat, Sleep, Netflix, Repeat. It is high time that we take responsibility for our sleep schedule and change from being an insomniac at night or having hypersomnia by the day. This confuses our biological clock and causes metabolism problems.
What could be better than to sit comfortably in your pyjamas, filling the gaps in our Resume and improve the chances of getting a better job by upskilling, certifying ourselves on various MOOCs such as Coursera, Harvard etc.
ASK YOUR INNER-SELF
Meditation is one thing that will de-stress us during this stressful time. It will help us to calm our anxious mind and improve our well being.
Spend time with your family; reconnect with your parents and siblings; bond over a cup of tea or while washing the utensils, options are many, but the opportunity is now!
ATTEND TO GARDEN
Watering those plants and seeing them bloom, will make us full of life again.
NEW CULINARY SKILLS
If we cannot go out to the restaurants, we can bring restaurants to our homes. Perfect time to broaden those culinary skills and help our mom.
TAKE UP BLOGGING
Maintaining a journal, keeping a track of your thoughts and daily experience will help you to conclude whether your day was a productive or unproductive one.
PLAY INDOOR GAMES
Think when was the last time you had a chess or Ludo match with your family!
Instead of being a couch potato and playing PUBG, indulge in Scrabble, Tambola, Snakes and Ladder, just the way when we used to urge our parents to play with us.
Let the creative juices flow in our mind as we try our hands-on activities like doodling, painting, writing, calligraphy.
Who am I in this world? Huh, that is one of the biggest puzzles. But, now is the time to start pondering over it.
So, let us use this time and ‘QUARANTINE’!
